How to get material WIDTH always in inches (over 12") in the BOM
I never had this fully resolved but found a (poor) work around.
Under project data I set my length units (format for dimension units) to FRACTIONAL & precision 1/16 in lieu of ARCHITECTURL & 1/16. This will update all dwgs BOM (test first)
Of course when modeling I need to go back to Architectural & precision 1/16, then when I update and create dwgs I go back to FRACTIONAL & precision 1/16 (you always need to reset precision too). You need to go back & forth throught-out the project like this.
The BOM should show width in inches when updated in fractional (like attached), but this poor work around needs to be fixed by Autocad!!!!!
Janet - please send in a fix for this so when using "poroject data" - "length units" - "Architectural" the BOM WIDTH is ALWAY in INCHES (not feet)

Shop drawing change after doing an UPDATE DETAIL
Ver 10 & 11
When i work on a shop drawing and scrub it to my liking,
then i do a UPDATE DETAIL much of my scrubbing is
altered to something very different. This happens on many
sheets.
I need to address ASAP as i can have hundreds of shop
drawings that unknowingly change after i do an update.

Clash between back-up bar and bottom flange for moment connections.
V2010:
When creating a welded moment (beam to column) & welding flanges from top, the bottom back-up bar clashes into bottom flange resulting in a clash report for every moment connection. Can you test and verify?

Show a marker on shop drawings (sim to attachment) on the framing side of shear plates
RE: AS2010
Can A.S. show a marker on shop drawings (sim to attachment) on the framing side of shear plates so the fabricator can mark that side for proper steel erection?
NO CNC for this fabricator.

How to get material WIDTH always in inches (over 12") in the BOM
In the BOM I see the material WIDTH under DESCRIPTION in (feet-inches).
All my shops (for 30 years) & In the AISC Steel Detailing Manual 2nd edition called out a plate width =<12” as (¼” x 12 x2’-0”). I’m new to AS but asking can this (always inches) be applied in the width AS BOM in lieu of how is shown now (¼”x1-0 x2’-0”)?

Problems when creating a shear plate connection (beam to beam or beam to column) using the library
RE 2010: When creating a shear plate connection (beam to
beam or beam to column) using the library, i set the gaps to 0".
But when i apply the new library connection a 3/8" gap
occurs between the shear plate and the beam or column its
welded to. Will this be fixed in the next SP?
